Learning the roles and responsibilities

Each student is constantly involved, alternating between skipper and crew, in learning the roles and responsibilities of each and how they must work together.

Sailing lessons depart from the Plattsburgh City Marina and return to the Plattsburgh City Marina or another destination (additional mooring or dockage fees may apply) on Lake Champlain at the end of each instructional day via supervision of your on board instructor.

Once safely docked or at mooring, your instructor will leave you to enjoy your evening on board your charter boat with your friends or family. This is a great way for you to experience living on board in a private, secure setting.

Overnight anchorage options can also be recommended by your instructor based on your desired itinerary, experience, and wind conditions.

In order to achieve ASA certification, students will be required to demonstrate sailing ability and pass a written examination.
